Good afternoon,
first, I'd like to congratulate our grade 12 students and their parents as we head toward this evening's graduation ceremony which takes place in our gymnasium at 6 PM. I'm very proud of our 60 young women and men who have completed the graduation requirements set forth by our school district and now head toward college, career training and military service. It has truly been an honor to serve as your principal and I wish you the very best for your future.
MCAS Science, Technology and Engineering is scheduled for grade 9 on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Please support your grade 9 student in getting to school on time with proper rest and a healthy breakfast. We expect our students to do well in completing and passing this important requirement for graduation as set forth by the Mass. Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education. Mr. Shah has worked hard to instruct each of the grade 9 students in their physics curriculum and our students should be confident and feel ready to excel on this exam.
Many of our grade 8 students will be heading to New York City on their class trip next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I remind grade 8 parents to complete and send back the attached medical/prescription form for our school nurse if you have not already done so and we thank you for your cooperation.
We look forward to hosting tours for grade 5 students who will be moving up to grade 6. Our newest class of grade 6 students will be visiting next Wednesday June 7th at 2:00 PM which we look forward to greatly.
The West Boylston Athletic Association will be hosting a sports awards night and "cookout" on Monday June 12th @ 6PM out on the baseball field. We hope that all athletes from our teams throughout this year (grades 6-11) will be able to attend.
Fall Varsity cheerleading tryouts will be June 5 & 6 from 2:30-4:30 in the gym. If you have any questions please contact Amy Smith at amysmith@wbschools.com . Our athletic director is hosting an ALL Fall sports meeting that will take place at the Middle/ High School media center @ 6pm on Tuesday June 6th. We will be discussing registration, physicals, athletic fees and other expectations of the athletic department. Fall sport coaches will also be there to discuss the schedule, tryouts and expectations for the season. This is a mandatory meeting for all students interested in trying out for a fall sport. If parents have any questions or concerns, please email justintienhaara@wbschool
Thank you and have a great weekend,
